This post was requested on my Instagram and now that we are pretty much halfway through summer I thought it would be the perfect time to do it! For those of you who don’t know I work as a nanny during the week! I work Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:00pm, this is my second summer nannying for the same family and I can honestly say I love my job!
With that being said I do spend my weekends in a more relaxing manner and take the time to unwind and really just do things that I want to do but might not have time to do during the weekend! So here is my typical summer weekend morning routine!
8:00-9:30am: Wake up
- Because I am so used to being up at 6:00am during the weekdays, I naturally wake up earlier on the weekends than I did before! I don’t set alarms or plan to go to bed at a certain time, I kind of just listen to my body and go to sleep and wake up when I feel its time!
10:00-11:00am: Social media, youtube, journal, ect.
- This is the time in the morning where I allow myself to just lay in bed and catch up on everything, whether that be scrolling through all my social media or watching all the videos in my subscription box! I also take this time to journal, I journal every day and reflect on the day prior by writing what I did, how I was feeling, as well as my low-light and high-light of the day. Journaling really just allows me to get all my thoughts out on paper and it also allows me to look back on the days and see just how I spent my summer! In addition, I will make to-do lists for the day and write down any blog post ideas or any books I want to read!
11:00am: Get ready
- So once I am done journaling or catching up on social media I will get ready for the day. This consists of washing my face, brushing my teeth, doing my hair and makeup and getting dressed for the day! On days when I am going to the gym I simply skip out on doing my makeup and will get dressed for the gym! I ALWAYS make sure to apply some sort of SPF to my face, regardless of what I am doing that day it is so important to apply sunscreen to prevent damage to my skin.
- This is the part of my morning where I will either head out to the gym as I said, or take the time to sit down and read my current book or write! Right now I am reading ‘The Outsider’ by Stephen King, which is a very long book so it will take me longer to read than normal. If I do not read I will sit down and write, lately I have been writing an adult fantasy book just as a passion project of mine so I usually try to write 1,000 words or a chapter a day!
